I love my Nespresso. As much as I feel I'd enjoy a "real" espresso machine, Nespresso is just so convenient. If I want a morning latte, or an after dinner espresso, it's ready in seconds, with virtually zero clean-up—save for the occasional disposal of the pods. (At least they're recyclable now.)
The true downside to Nespresso, however, is the price. The machines are expensive, of course, but the pods are surprisingly pricey. It's great that my Nespresso makes a coffee so quickly, but before I know it, I'm out of pods, and it's time to take out a mortgage so I can order some more.
That's why I think Prime Day is a great time to pick up both Nespresso machines and Nespresso pods—but not together. I'll explain more below, but let's start with the coffee machine deals. By my count, Amazon has five machines with dedicated Prime Day deals, including:
Nespresso VertuoPlus with milk frother: $142.99 (was $219)
Nespresso Vertuo Plus: $110.47 (was $169.95)
Nespresso Vertuo: $131 (was $219)
Nespresso Vertuo Pop+: $99.99 (was $139.95)
Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima: $349 (was $499)
If you already have a machine, you'll find a number of pods on sale as well. Unfortunately, at this time, only the pods for Nespresso's original line of machines (the smaller ones) appear to be discounted, and those machines don't have any deals right now. That works out for people like me, who have an old machine that's still kicking. But if you're buying a newer, Vertuo machine, those pods appear to be full-price for the moment.
That said, if you do have an original machine, there are a lot of deals here. This variety pack of 50 pods, for example, is 20% off, down to $34 from $42.50. (You'll find a number of Nespresso-brand variety packs around this price point.) This 50-count pack of Starbucks blonde roast is 19% off, down to $22.99 from $28.50. Take a scroll through Amazon's listings to see the latest sales and deals.
