There isn't much time left to buy a Meta Quest 3S virtual reality headset at the Amazon Prime Day price of $249 for the 128GB version or $329 for the 256GB model.
As Lifehacker's resident VR aficionado, it is my expert opinion that the Meta Quest 3S is the best VR headset on the market, pound-for-pound. Even at full price, it's way less expensive than any other "serious" virtual reality headset out there, it can handle any software the more expensive Meta Quest 3 can run, and, performance-wise, it's comparable to its bigger brother. It's also on sale for Amazon Prime Day. There are two configurations of Meta Quest 3S on offer for Prime Day, and each one is a great deal.
The Amazon exclusive, the 128GB, Gorilla Tag Cardboard Hero Bundle comes with the everyone-is-playing-it game Gorilla Tag; in-game bonuses add up to a $45 value including two skins, 1,000 Shiny Rocks, and a three-month trial of Meta Horizon+ for $249. (List price is $300.)
If you'd rather play the closest thing VR has to a AAA game, check out the 256GB Batman: Arkham Shadow bundle. It comes with Batman: Arkham Shadow and a three-month Trial of Meta Horizon+ for $329. (List price: $400)
Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart and Best Buy have Prime Day competition sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.
Walmart’s Prime Day competition sale will continue until July 13, and includes deals up to 50% off. It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+.
Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
