Prime Day 2025 is here from Tuesday, July 8 to Friday, July 11, and Lifehacker is sharing the best sales based on product reviews, comparisons, and price-tracking tools.

The MacBook Air is always a solid bet for a computer that "just works," especially now that Apple's using its own custom chips and has upgraded its base RAM to 16GB. Not everyone needs the full power of a MacBook Pro, and these computers are a solid way to get Apple's user friendly operating system without breaking the bank...or, if you can't tell by the name, your back.

Just ahead of Prime Day, you can already get Apple's latest MacBook Airs at a pretty steep discount, with deals starting as low as $849 at time of writing, or $150 off. This will snag you a 13-inch model with the new M4 chip, 16GB of memory, 256GB of storage, and your choice of four color options. For $1,049, also $150 off, you can upgrade to a 15-inch screen, although your RAM and storage will stay the same. On the plus side, though, there's still four color options to pick from—it's rare to see that kind of choice in sales like these.

For those looking for a bit more performance, both sizes also have sales available on models with 512GB of storage and either 16GB or 24GB of RAM. The most decked out 13-inch MacBook Air will run you $1,249 right now ($150 off again), while a similarly powerful 15-inch MacBook Air will cost you $1,434.64, which is a slightly heftier discount than the other options at $164.36 off.

A few older models, like the 2024 MacBook Air with the M3 chip, can also be found slightly cheaper renewed right now, although you'd be sacrificing half of your memory by buying older. While past sales events made the M2 and M3 MacBook Airs almost look more appealing than their more recent counterparts, Apple's upgrades for this year really make buying new your best bet for a long-lasting computer this Prime Day.
